Who really wrote the Book of Genesis and how could they know about the creation if people didn't come in until last?

The Holy Scriptures tell us who wrote the book of Genesis. That was Moses.

There was One and Only One person at the creation to know what took place, and that was God. God walked with Adam and then walked and talked with others.

The Holy Scriptures do not tell us who asked God about the creation and was told about it. But Enoch walked and talked with God and then was so close to God that God took him up to heaven when he was only 365 years old.

    Genesis 5 NIV
21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
It seems to me that what God told Enoch was then passed down by word of mouth from father to sons. They were very careful about this oral history and sons were required to be able to recite it exactly word for word. The Hebrews have carried on this very tradition to this very day. Children are required to know whole books by memory exactly word for word.

Moses learned to write in Egypt. It is not too hard to believe that Moses then came up with an alphabet for the Hebrew language. Moses then wrote down the oral history of the Hebrews and God spoke to him face to face and gave him the rest of the books of Moses.

We do not know all of this to be true, but it is a very reasonable explanation.
