What purpose in God’s creation did the Nephilim serve if their entire existence was not part of the initial biblical plan?

The Nephilim and the fallen angles rebelled fully against God and were totally evil all the time. The fallen angles were thrown out of heaven and will all be thrown into the lake of fire. The Nephilim were all destroyed in the flood. There were a few fallen angels that had sex with human woman after the flood and their offspring were also Nephilim. Goliath was one of these. His end is told about in the Bible.
Both the fallen angels and the Nephilim are examples that obedience to God brings a blessing and disobedience to God brings a curse.
