What sort of defenses would Noah, his family and the people of the day have had against dinosaurs, large insects and other creatures like the Nephilim?

If dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time men did; a man who would state that he killed the bear and lion with his club, would be like saying I took my club and killed the mouse and the rabbit. Men would not bothered building walls to defend their cites for dinos would just crash through them. The Bible would be full of stories about dinos and many details would be told about them if they walked the earth at that time. There would not be numerous stories about the wolf, bear and lion and one vague mention of a Behemoth and the Leviathan in Job. Crocs have been reported of huge sizes and the verse in Job would seem to be describing one.
Where are the accounts in the Bible of dinos breaking through walls and houses and stomping on their their tents. The portrayal in movies of the large herbivore dinos not being any danger is ridiculous. The most dangerous animal to hunt in Africa is the Cape Buffalo. It is a herbivore. So are elephants and moose. White tail deer have been known to kill men.
I well remember a day, when running in the local woods, seeing the largest white tail buck I have ever seen. He was prancing behind a doe and I swear had a smile on his face. The hair on the back on my neck went up as I realized if he seen me and took me as a threat he could kill me with little effort. I certainly could not outrun him and it was in a meadow with no trees to take cover behind. This buck probably weighed twice what I weighed.
God prepared a place for men to live in Genesis 1. An earth with dinos and large insects would not be a place for men to live.
Genesis 1:26-28 KJV
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Exodus 23:29 - I won't drive them out before you in a single year, so that the land does not become desolate and so that wild animals do not overrun you.
If lions and bears would be too much for men to handle if they become too numerous; men would have been unable to have dominion over an earth with dinos.
The answer is in the words God uses in Genesis 1. We need to consider His words with great care and lots of prayer. If we follow tradition we will be led astray. Jesus warned us not to follow the traditions of men.
Genesis 1 NIV
The Beginning
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
The earth was not formed yet. God had created the heavens and the earth, BUT they were not all formed yet. God had created all the matter and energy to form the heavens and the earth but that matter had not been gathered into the stars and the earth. There can be no 24 hour earth day before the earth was formed.
Further from evening to morning is NOT 24 hours. It is only about 12 hours. That is not an earth day, but God is talking about something far more important. God tells us to be patient, or to ignore time. He would not make time the focus of His first chapter of the Bible. God is Light and He is talking about the first coming of natural light which is a shadow of His Light. There was darkness ( which is the absence of light) and God said “let there be light”. The first day is the first coming of light. It is not about time, but about light.
The root of the Hebrew word translated Day, means the coming of warmth. When the sun comes up, I am not thinking about time, but the light and warmth it will bring.
The days of Genesis 1 are not 24 hour earth days, but just long periods of time. The dinos came and went before man was created. God left us a record of this in His creation.
So Noah did not have to defend against Dinos and other giant creatures. Now the Nephilim were very large and powerful and they did exist at the time of Noah. It would seem that God protected the clan of Noah’s family from these Nephilim, just as God protects His children from Satan today.
