  • When Moses and Jacob seen God, did it Give then perfect faith ?

Two Questions. When Moses and Jacob seen God, did it Give then perfect faith (belief in God)? Why? If you had a person experience with God like Moses or Jacob had, what would that do in terms of your faith? Why?

Faith in God is NOT just knowing He exists. Satan KNOWS God exists; yet he refuses to obey or trust God.

You can know that your friend is real and that he loves you. You can also know that friend is smarter than you and has abilities far beyond yours. Yet you still may have a hard time following that friend into a very dangerous situation.

There is a situation in a book I read decades ago. I think the book was Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard. In it Much Afraid is running from a terrifying beast down a road. The road is very narrow and has swamps on both sides of the road full of crocs and other beasts. The road narrows and it gets totally dark with absolutely no light. She wants to stop but can not because she hears the terrifying beast following her not far behind. She feels around in the dark and it seems the road has disappeared and there is nothing but swamp ahead. The Lord tells her to take a step and He will guide her. But it is terrifying to think what will happen if she takes one misstep. She takes a step in the total darkness and somehow she did not fall into the swamp. She keeps taking one terrifying step after the other all night long without falling into the swamp. When first light comes she turns around and sees she was walking on top of fence posts at every step and did not misstep once and fall into the swamp. She had faith in God.

The hard part of trusting God is knowing that you are hearing Him and doing what He is telling you to do. You might trust Him but do not trust yourself in being able to hear and then follow His directions. But God is able to make us follow Him IF we are willing to be led by Him.

Isaiah 50:10 NIV - Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on their God.

Faith in God is not about knowing He exists. It is trusting in Him in very difficult situations.
