I have posted before that I tore my upper rotator cuff muscle with a complete tear. The muscle was separated from the tendon by about 1/2". I was told I would never have much strength unless I had surgery to repair it.
I went to my Chiropractor for several months to help with the pain and then started physical therapy about a month ago. I was not able to do a pushup when I started physical therapy. The last visit was able to do 10 without pain or pushing it.
I joined the YMCA to work out with my Chiropractor and tutor him in math while we worked out. Our first workout will be Tuesday Jan 16. But I started working out as soon as I got my membership.
Tonight was my 3rd workout and I was able to see improvement in my running and the weight machines. I was able to do sets on the back machine with 208 pounds which encouraged me somewhat. But my back was not involved in the injury, but it has been many years since I worked out with weights, but I did not push it on any machines. But I was able to do a set of ten pullovers with 150# which is what I weigh. I did not push it at all and could have done 20. I was really encouraged and my progress is making me wonder if The Lord did a healing in my shoulder. I have not had the surgery. A pull-over is a hard exercise for most people and few can do one with their own weight. Most men can bench press far more than they can pull-over.
Whatever the reason I am really thankful to be able to have this kind of progress at age 74 after an injury like that.
The Lord Jesus is full of mercy and grace.
