  • God does not break His own laws

I got this email this morning:

Hey Lou! Nice piece. If they had to follow rules, things would be different.
I have someone I'm carrying on a discussion about creation. It came to miracles are outside the lines. I am thinking of responding that no miracle ever done or will be done falls outside the lines. God works through what he's made. Any suggestions?

This is my answer to Tom:

    Hi Tom,

God reveals His nature and glory with His creation and His laws. He is NOT a lawbreaker. He always follows His own laws. God is so serious about His laws that he could not break His law of justice and just forget the laws that people broke without the penalty for it being paid. So God came down from heaven and was born of a woman and shed His blood for our sin.

The smartest created being in the universe could not see how God would follow His laws and forgive people for their sins. But God simply paid the penalty for sin, which is eternal death, by His own death. Now His law of justice DEMANDS that anyone who trusts in the blood of Jesus ( which is the price paid for sin) to be forgiven of their sin, for their sin has been paid for.

So instead of the law of justice demanding the person be put to eternal death, the law of justice demands that the person be given eternal life. For the penalty for the sin has already been paid for. Of course the sinners has to appeal to the blood of Jesus to be forgiven.

Now that is a miracle. And it shows how God preforms miracles without breaking any of His laws, but instead He uses His laws to preform the miracle.

This is NOT a new belief, that God never breaks His own laws. Augustine of Hippo (354-430 AD) was a church leader in his days. Below is a quote from him:

Miracles are not contrary to nature, but only contrary to what we know about nature.

I did not know that Augustine said this before The Lord revealed this truth to me. But I am certainly not the first that The Lord revealed it to.
