  • Celebrating all the accomplishments of the Son

This time of year believers participate in the pageantry climaxing on December 25th.
What believers celebrate was described about 700 years before the event in this passage from the Prophet Isaiah.

    Isaiah 9:6-7 NCV
    6 A child has been born to us;
God has given a son to us.
He will be responsible for leading the people.
His name will be Wonderful Counselor, Powerful God,
Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace.
7 Power and peace will be in his kingdom
and will continue to grow forever.
He will rule as king on David’s throne
    and over David’s kingdom.
    He will make it strong
by ruling with justice and goodness
    from now on and forever.
The Lord All-Powerful will do this
because of his strong love for his people.

    SUMMARY APLIED TO THE CHURCH
This kingdom of the Son is the ekklesia or those “called out” from among the nations.
In the English Bibles the Greek word ekklesia is translated “church.”
Therefore, it is the Church that the Son established.
The Son will rule the Church forever by justice and goodness.
Power and peace will be in the Church of the Son.
The Son will make the Church strong.
The Church of the Son will grow forever.
    Rejoice in the Son!
