What do you think of Luke 2:11-14? What is meant by this?

    Luke 2 NIV

“8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.””

It is very clear what is written and what is meant by those words. This was prophesied in Isaiah:

    Isaiah 9 1599 Geneva Bible

“6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
    And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father,
    Prince of Peace.”

In the passage above God is stating that a child will be born that is The Only Begotten Son of God being born of a woman and therefore fully man. But then God also states that this child is also The Mighty God and The Everlasting Father, or fully God.

God also states this is Isaiah 43 NIV:

“10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me
    11 I, even I, am the Lord,
and apart from me there is no savior.

God Almighty, The Creator of everything that exists, came down from heaven and was born of a woman to become one of us to die for our sin. That Child was Jesus.
