What is "the power of the air" of which Satan is the prince (Eph. 2:2)?

    Ephesians 2 (NIV)

“ 2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. “

Satan is also called the ruler of this world. But the ruler of the kingdom of the air, is a warning and reminder to us that Satan is above us and more powerful than any mere man. Satan is a heavenly being, but confined to the very lowest heaven. Any mere man that tries to match wits with Satan will end up destroyed. There is One and Only One who can defeat Satan ( and Jesus has already defeated him). Satan is above us. Jesus is our One and Only Hope.

But Satan is confined to the AIR ( and the rest of earth) , or the 3rd heaven, which is the atmosphere of the earth. The 2nd heaven is what we call outer space and Satan has no power over it. We do not have to fear that Satan will send some comet to crash into the earth to destroy it. Satan has been totally thrown out of the 3rd heaven, which is not in this universe and he can never enter it again. He can not enter heaven and accuse us or point out our sin to God. God has access to Satan, but Satan has no access to God.

Someone might point out the conversation God had with Satan in Job. That took place on this earth, not the 3rd heaven. Salem is called the city of The Great King in the Bible for a reason. God was the King of Salem of the King of Peace.
