    What is the meaning of Ephesians 6:16?

    Ephesians 6 NIV

    16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

    Satan shoots flaming arrows at those who decide to follow Christ. This is proof that Christ is the only way to eternal life. For if Christ was not God Almighty and was not the Only Way to eternal life, Satan would not attack anyone trusting in Christ. Because Satan is the father of lies and always attacks truth. If Satan attacks having faith in Christ then that proves Christ is the Truth.

    The Holy Spirit tells us through Paul to take up the shield of faith. But be careful ,for it is also true, that we know that The Holy Spirit is speaking of FAITH IN CHRIST, not faith is anything else. Having faith does not save. It is having faith if Christ that saves. Many have faith is their faith. That is simply faith in oneself which will lead to eternal death.

    There is one and only one condition to being saved. That is to trust is Jesus, and nothing else, to save you.

    Colossians 1 TLB

    20 It was through what his Son did that God cleared a path for everything to come to him—all things in heaven and on earth—for Christ’s death on the cross has made peace with God for all by his blood.

    21 This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies and hated him and were separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends.

    22 He has done this through the death on the cross of his own human body, and now as a result Christ has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are standing there before him with nothing left against you—nothing left that he could even chide you for;

    23 the only condition is that you fully believe the Truth, standing in it steadfast and firm, strong in the Lord, convinced of the Good News that Jesus died for you, and never shifting from trusting him to save you.

    Only is an adverb having to do with ONE. The One condition to being saved is to trust Jesus to save you. We must fully believe that Truth, standing in it steadfast and firm, strong in the Lord, convinced of the Good News that Jesus died for you, and never shifting from trusting him to save you.

    That FAITH IS CHRIST will extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
