Isaiah 49 NIV
14 But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me,
the Lord has forgotten me.”
15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.
NOTE: God is saying that He always sees the walls of Jerusalem. He is continually watching over His people. He never looks away, even for a second. He always sees you and He always sees me. IF we are trusting in Jesus to save us, then no one can harm us without His allowing it for our good.
Romans 8 TLB
28 And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.
John 20 NIV
Jesus Appears to Thomas
24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
NOTE: Thomas could not believe that Jesus could raise Himself from the grave. But when Jesus showed Thomas how He had engraved His very hands for Thomas, then Thomas believed.
Jesus engraved His hands with the nail holes for all of us. He will never forget any of us. He has these nail holes in His hands to prove He will never forget us.
