    Hebrews 6 NIV

4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen, away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.

NOTE: Please read these other translations to bring a deeper understanding to this passage.

    ERV

After people have left the way of Christ, can you make them change their lives again? I am talking about people who once learned the truth, received God’s gift, and shared in the Holy Spirit. They were blessed to hear God’s good message and see the great power of his new world. But then they left it all behind, and it is not possible to make them change again. That’s because those who leave Christ are nailing him to the cross again, shaming him before everyone.

NOTE: it is simply saying that it is very difficult to bring people to repentance that have TRULY walked with Jesus and then TRULY turn away. This is talking about people who have truly known Jesus and were very close to Him.

    ISV

For it is impossible to keep on restoring to repentance time and again people who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have become partners with the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of God’s word and the powers of the coming age, and who have fallen away, as long as they continue to crucify the Son of God to their own detriment by exposing him to public ridicule.

    NCV

Some people cannot be brought back again to a changed life. They were once in God’s light, and enjoyed heaven’s gift, and shared in the Holy Spirit. They found out how good God’s word is, and they received the powers of his new world. They found out how good God’s word is, and they received the powers of his new world.

NOTICE it says some people can not be brought to repent again. If a person WANTS TO REPENT that is a different story. EVERYONE that truly repents is forgiven by the Lord Jesus who shed His blood for them. If Jesus shed His blood for them, who would He not forgive that confesses their sin.

Note: Remember it is NOT which passage is true ! Every passage is totally true. Including the following one:

    1 John 1 NIV

Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness

5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

      Hi ..............,

What makes you think God has handed you over to a reprobate mind ? What makes you feel the Holy Spirit left you ? Those who enjoy sin do not feel terrible about it. Those who are turned over to the reprobate mind never truly gave their life to The Lord Jesus. If one gives their life to Jesus, He then holds them in His hand and no one can remove them from His hand. That would include you, yourself can not remove yourself from His hand. IF you gave your life to Him. If you have not given your life to Him, then do it now.

      John 10 NIV

25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.

      1 John 1 NIV

The Incarnation of the Word of Life

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We write this to make our joy complete.

I do not read that you are saying you have not sinned, but that you are worried that you are such a sinner that you can not be saved. There is no such thing as a person so sinful that Jesus can not save them, or is not willing to save them. His blood has the POWER to save any sinner no matter how sinful. The only sinner Jesus can not save or will not save is the one that will not confess their sin.

      Look at this passage:

      Luke 18 NIV
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Matthew 25 NIVThe Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

NOTICE that the sheep did not think they had served the Lord and the Goats could not believe they had not served The Lord.

Some years ago I went through such a tough time I thought I must be lost and not saved. then I read this and seen that Paul went through the same thing:

      2 Cor 1 NIV

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

To the church of God in Corinth, together with all his holy people throughout Achaia:

2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Praise to the God of All Comfort

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself.9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

Jesus shed His blood on the cross for YOU, so that you would KNOW that Jesus wants to save you.

Jesus raised Himself from the dead so that you would know that He is able to save you.

      John 2 NIV

18 The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”

19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

This was my answer to him:

        Lou Newton

Thank you so much for your very kind reply. It will probably take several replies to answer you fully.

1st of all go back and read my answer to you very carefully:

This message is from God Himself. He said 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If you confess these things to God He will forgive you fully for them. So you should not be concerned if you have done what is spoke about in Hebrews 6 or not. God promises that if you confess this to Him He will forgive you fully.

So the verses in Hebrews 6 can not apply to you IF you confess these things to God as you just did to me.

2nd - I would question that these doubts you speak of might not be from you at all. They may be from the Devil himself to tempt you to worry about your salvation.

Every time one of these doubts come into your mind, pray right then and there and ask God to forgive you and ask Him to reveal the Truth to you.

Remember Jesus is far more powerful than the Devil. He created Satan and has defeated death and sin by shedding His blood on the cross.

I used to have these doubts too. But I confessed them to Jesus and asked Him to reveal the Truth to me. Jesus removed these doubts by preforming miracles in my life and using my prayers for others to preform miracles in their lives.

A servant of the Lord Jesus

        Saved by grace alone
