Hi Lou these and many other inspiring quotes sound so high and upright yet for some reason when I read them I always feel like I fall short. Very short.
      Blessings brother..... Steve

Steve this quote agrees with you. It does not take an extraordinary person to live an extraordinary life. Ordinary people are all sinners. But we serve am extraordinary God who came down from heaven to become a man so show us He understands and shed His blood for us so that we can be forgiven of our sin. Few trust in Jesus alone to save them, so that is extraordinary.

The number of righteous are small. Jesus said few would find life. But being righteous is NOT to be righteous by our works, but we are made righteous by confessing our`sinful state and trusting Jesus to forgive us.

"Your character is who you are when no one but God is watching
        you." - Unknown

Who are you when no one is watching. Do you still confess that you are the chief of sinners and trust no one and nothing but the blood of Jesus to save you ?

"If your faith can't be tested, it can't be trusted." - Unknown.

Many fall away when God tests their faith. When times get tough, do we get angry with God, or do we still confess that we are sinners and trust Him to save us. Do we still pray for His will in our life under these tough times.

"The new wine of revival will shatter the old wineskins of formality."

"Making heaven on earth is our business." - William Booth

Read the Revelation and see what John told us heaven is like. Everyone threw their crowns at the feet of the Lord. Everyone said no one was worthy except the Lord Jesus. They all sang praises to Him. That is our business here on the earth.

"Preach abroad... It is the cooping yourselves up in rooms that
has dampened the work of God, which never was and never will be
carried out to any purpose without going into the highways and
hedges and compelling men and women to come in."
        - Jonathan Edwards

Steve, when is the last time you did your preaching in a church building. You do all of your preaching and proclaiming our Lord is King outside of the building.

Thanks Lou for the very kind help with understanding how to appreciate all the wonderful quotes I hear or read over the years. Usually I would not be inspired by them, but convicted and feel unworthy and a bit cast off or despised. I am always so busy judging myself. I'm already found guilty.
