Pilgrim's Progress (Bunyan): Updated, Modern English. More than 100 Illustrations. Kindle Edition

If you don't have a Kindle device, the app is available for all mobile devices and PCs. I read Little Pilgrim's Promise (thanks to Lou), what a godly and marvelously deep tale.

      Hi Barry and Steve:

Pilgrims Progress is the most published book in the English language except for The Bible itself.

The author, Bunyan, was a tinker ( a man who repaired holes in pots and pans) in England in the 1600's. Because of his trade he was permitted to travel from village to village to repair pans. He preached the gospel in those villages during his travels and was imprisoned for 12 years for doing so. ( Only those who were approved by the church of England were allowed to preach).

During his time in prison he would have a dream while asleep and when he woke up would write that dream down. The writing of those dreams are what makes up Pilgrims Progress.

It is a book that reveals deep and profound truths about the Christian walk. It is one of the best books I have ever read.

I'm glad you mentioned that about Bunyan. I forgot, even though you told me twice, I think. Hard head. Thanks, Lou.

Has anyone here ever heard of or read "Of Plymouth Plantation" by William Bradford?

I haven't yet. I've heard it's a good read. Who better than to talk about the Pilgrims than someone who was there.

Thanks for the reply Karl. "Pilgrims Progress" is about the Pilgrims back in England. The book "Of Plymouth Plantation" is about the Pilgrims in America.

I would like to read the book you are speaking of. I have read books written by people who read that book and others by the Pilgrims, in America, and they write of fantastic miracles that The Lord preformed for the Pilgrims.
