1st of all, let me say that I have been seeking The Lord about Genesis 1 for 39 years. I have confessed to the Lord that this is way beyond me and asked Him to help my blind eyes see. When the Lord answered me and revealed things to me, I still did not accept them, but asked for confirmation over and over again, year after year.
The Lord did answer me and confirmed these truths time after time. He proved these truths to me by the scriptures and then confirmed them by the truths revealed in His creation.
We can see several truths in this psalm from The Holy Spirit through David:
1 - The heavens declare the glory of God
2 - The sun is a shadow of The Lord Jesus Christ
3 - The laws of The Lord are perfect and trustworthy
Now since the creation is God's creation, we can depend on the truth it declares.
God created the Sun and decided to make it a shadow of Himself. ( or a type of The Lord Jesus)
The laws of The Lord are perfect and perfection never needs to change. For if it is ever found lacking and not useful then it is not perfect at all.
The laws of the Lord are trustworthy - Can you trust something that might change in any second. Do you want to walk across a bridge that might suddenly change and disappear.
We can trust the laws of the Lord because they are from Him. They never change. If God allowed one law to change, then how would you know that another law would not change.
If the law of gravity would ever change, then how would you know that the law of forgiveness would also not change.
God has promised us that he never has changed and never will change.
Mere men justify their doctrines by saying that God changed His laws to make Genesis 1 come out right. That is not necessary for a perfect creation, but is necessary for an imperfect doctrine.
In this study which I have never wrote down before, I do ask that you ask questions. Please ask many questions so that I will know that you are taking part to encourage my weakness. Also ask questions so that I will know what part you are having a problem seeing.
Remember I took almost 40 years to see this, do not expect to understand it in 40 minutes.
Also I ask that no one studies this subject for a few hours and days and makes dogmatic statements about it. I would ask you to study the subject for at least a few years before making up your mind.
In fact I would suggest that you do not make up your mind at all. But leave The Lord reveal to you the Truth. It does no good to pray and ask The Lord to reveal the truth to you, if you then do not wait upon His answer and make up your own mind instead. I find this is done very often by many people.
So to review:
1 - The heavens declare the glory of God - and the glory of God is truth - the glory of God can be trusted
2 - The sun is a shadow of The Lord Jesus Christ - The sun is our only source of natural light, just as Jesus is our only source of spiritual light. - the whole solar system revolves around the sun, just as we revolve around the Lord Jesus - The sun is most of all of the material in our world - just as Jesus is everything to us - The moon follows the sun across the sky - just as the church is to follow Christ
3 - The laws of The Lord are perfect and trustworthy - These laws display the nature of God and His nature is perfect and trustworthy - remember God created these laws to declare His glory to us.

Psalm 19 NIV 1984
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth
speech; night after night they display knowledge. 3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. 4
Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the
sun, 5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. 6 It rises at
one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. 7 The law of the LORD is
perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the LORD
are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD I
is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. 10 They are more precious than
gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. 11 By them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant
also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. 14 May the
words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
