Why listen to a liberal humanist? Is any more needed?
This woman has demonstrated enough times her contradictions to the Bible.
Her only proof is that it feels right.
For her truth is what she thinks and not what is revealed in the Bible.
However, in this modern world most Americans understand their truth to be what they think, believe, wish, or feel in their spirit.
If authority is found in the mind rather than from the recorded revelation there is no basis for a counter argument.
If ones authority is anywhere between "God told me" to "My last idea" there remains no possible standard to measure the truth or from which a legitimate counter argument may be made.
This is seen in President Trump where his last idea is the truth.
Ones source of authority, what ever it is, is the basis for determining their truth.
If one has more than one source of authority , then there can be more than one truth, or a hierarchy of truths.
It is as useless to counter what Ms. Winfrey believes as it is counter an opinion based upon the Bible plus anything.
For those who honestly attempt to adhere to the authority of the Bible there is no common ground for discussion with either.

I posted this on Facebook for the benefit of those who think she is someone to listen to.

She gives away cars and champions free thinkers and women's rights. Good buddies with Osteen. They both rob Scripture to give their devilish ministries a Christian veneer. It's a recipe that works. E.g. Rome worked it for nearly two millennia and owns the hearts and minds of billions. In my opinion it is useful from time to time to refute the errors in detail. The details, after all, keep deceived people bound up in error and lure new people daily.

Useful to whom? Well, maybe to new Christians or those unaware of these false beliefs. The only "cure" for the false beliefs is the truth from the Holy Ghost. "As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him." 1 John 2:27 NASB

But there is a need for preachers, and always will be until The Lord returns.

Eckhart Tolle is a big name in new age spiritualism. He is touted as one of the most successful. The people who are spreading his teachings are not only TV personalities and movie actors, also academics, science, big business, consciousness organizations; people whom the masses typically hold in very high regard as heroes and experts after some fashion. The ideology is being integrated with everything, from religion to technology to transhumanism, It is rather compatible with Kabbalah and Quantum Physics. It's no accident. It's being taught in our schools, played out on TV and in computer games. There is also an element of psychedelic drug use, which is not new, but it is picking up steam again. Drugs are very attractive to youths, and they open doors for demons and cults.
i dare say this topic is extremely important.
Your entire family and friend circle may be saved, Glen, but mine is not and likely others are in a similar way.
I began to come out of the world because a few people were able to show me that my worldview was false in very specific ways that I could get a handle on. I know it was the power of God and not the messengers, and not the message. But the message is one of the earliest signs I can point to and say that I began to realize I was running with a global death cult. That was the vehicle He used, and I'm very grateful for it.
Thus, I may have a higher regard for this kind of information than some. If you can't see it, that doesn't mean it's useless. It probably just means you're not down here in the pinky toe with me and some things look different from here.Last edited by Baruch; July 27, 2017, 01:34 AM.

Then I answered the question, "Well, maybe to new Christians (It would be useful) or those unaware of these false beliefs." I ask you, who is it that is unaware that Ms. Winfrey spreads a false religious belief? You answered this in the post of yours I quoted.
My assumption was that mature believers who experience 1 John 2:27 would not need to be told that the teachings of Ms. Winfrey were false. Everyone else who did not have the spiritual advantage of 1 John 2:27 would be deceived by the world. In other words, the information is not useful to me but to many others - which is nearly everybody. My futile attempt was to apply 1 John 2:27 to the spiritual discernment of mature believers.
This is just a method of defining the category (in this case - people who need to be warned) by defining those who are not in the category of needing to be warned. Mature believers should not need the warning because of 1 John 2:2.
Example: What whole number am I thinking of between 1 and 5. If it is not 2 or 3, what is it. It is a known as defining something by what it is not. The way I put it was the number 4 (1 John 2:27) is the number between 1 and 5. Then it is useful to the other numbers.
But you are correct in that my attempt was to point to those for whom it was not useful and to provide the reason why as a Bible lesson.Last edited by glen smith; July 27, 2017, 06:22 PM.

A good number of years back the first Christian oppositions to Ms. Winfrey's distortions concerning Christianity were met with a avalanche of Christians supporting her. Over time this battle has been won by educating Christians about what she says. Initially it was an up hill battle against her stardom and her kind attitude, but there now seems little support for her among evangelicals. This was a little battle. However, it appears she has won the current war.
