  • Can anyone solve this riddle?

I was listening to the radio today and heard a disc jockey ask a question that none of the callers could solve. In fact, I still don't know the answer and it's bugging me.

    Here's the question:

What word means, "A sudden reversal in direction or change in attitude?" The only hint he gave was that it starts with the letter "S."

The only word I can think of that might possibly fit is, "surrender." But I doubt that's the correct answer.

Does anyone know what the answer is? It's been bugging me.

Well the first word that comes to mind is repent, but it does not start with S

Sorry or Sorrow start with S but do not seem to fit the definition

    now switch might be it

I had the same first association, repent. And then I thought switchback. I think we're onto it.
