  • From the Heart

My wife and I have been regularly discussing the upcoming presidential election. There is really no other place I can post this but here. Sadly, we both believe that Hillary Clinton will be elected as the next president. Why? Because far too many people in this country have sunk so low in their morals, values and honest thinking to a level that defies logical explanation. Maybe this is in accordance with Scripture that says people will believe lies and reject the truth. At any rate - I think we will see very bad times ahead. I know many people are praying for a revival in the U.S. - but I do not see it happening. I think this country has turned a corner in its history and is doomed to fall.

    You certainly could be right.

But we should remember that The Lord delivered Israel from the enemy with only 300 out of the whole nation.

The scriptures tell us that some in Israel cried out to The Lord for deliverance. The only ones that would count are those that approached God with the right heart. How many were there that did so ?

Well only 32,000 even bothered to show up to fight the enemy out of the whole nation.

God sent 22,000 back home because their heart was not right with Him. They feared the enemy more than they feared God.

After that God then sent 9,700 more back home because their heart was also not right with God. They trusted in the fact that they were born in Israel instead of trusting in God Himself.

God used the 300 that were left to defeat 135,000 of the enemy. The enemy all turned on each other and defeated themselves when they heard the Name of The Lord and the name of Gideon. God had had Gideon destroy their god Baal and they had all heard that Baal was not able to punish Gideon for doing so. So they all started killing one another in panic.

We do not have to defeat the enemies of The Lord in this nation. We only have to obey whatever He tells us to do, and He will cause them destroy one another.

I have been crying out to The Lord for deliverance. I hope to find 299 more that will join me.

Thanks for the encouraging post Lou. I've already joined you in prayer. I keep thinking about 2 Chronicles 7:14 -

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Thanks so much for your reply Tom. I really understand why and how anyone would think our nation is through. The people are so sinful and ignorant. They seem to not want to know The Truth. But really we are all like that. After all it is us that has not brought deliverance to our land.

I do not see what we have to loose by crying out to The Lord Jesus for deliverance. Would we not really be thankful if The Lord did deliver us from our currant state ?

Hopefully more people on this forum will join us, and hopefully The Lord has more small groups like us around the nation.

Amen to the scripture you posted. The only way The Lord will hear us is if we approach Him with that humble attitude and ask His forgiveness for our sins so we can even pray to Him.

22,000 that answered Gideon's call did not have the faith that The Lord could deliver them. They feared the enemy more than they believed The Lord could deliver them.

9,700 of them were not humble and instead of approaching with a humble heart and asking for forgiveness for their sin, they trusted in the fact that they were born in Israel ( were Christians today)

I ask The Lord to have mercy on me and help me approach Him in a way that would somehow please Him.

Is there someone else who would join Tom and me to seek The Lord this way ?

Trump is not our deliverer, and certainly no other mere man is either. Who knows how The Lord will deliver us, but He certainly PROVED He has mercy and wants to save us by shedding His own blood on the cross. Jesus also PROVED He was ABLE to save us by raising Himself from the dead.

How fortunate we all are to have such a God as Jesus to save us. There is no one like Him.

Earlier today I received several news alerts that many more of HRC's official state department emails have been found from her private server relating to several official government issues - including the attack in Benghazi. These are part of the emails she previously said under oath had been previously released, yet apparently now we are seeing that they were not. How much longer do we have to tolerate so many outright lies and deception?

I am already there, brothers, and have been for some months. I gather from videos, comments, posts, reposts, and articles that there are many who are humbly seeking God's face and praying for deliverance. I think if we keep our prayers general we'll be in agreement, then the Lord can lead us to pray specifically. And He can discern our hearts even if words fail us. I join you in prayer.

I'm not praying for that corrupt corporation and all its franchises to get cleaned up or clean itself up. It is the problem, not just part of the problem. It can only be corrected by ceasing 99.999% of what it is presently doing to us - and to foreign peoples - and restoring what it has taken. It's obvious this is an impossible task. But, that said, there is nothing too hard for the Lord.

I'm not praying for my choice of candidate to become potus. I do, however, pray for the higher things such as protection from violence, and space for repentance unto the Lord, if it be His will. Because He would that all men come to repentance. If the Lord picks a potus to deliver us, I will be genuinely astonished; and grateful for any branch He gives us to put in the bitter waters.

(Exhortation - I'm only a man, and I can see the calamity approach as well as my neighbor. The propaganda mill is selling us fear 24x7. They have really turned on the spigot full power. Even the unobservant and slumbering can see the coming calamity today. Much of it is fiction. We can't let the fear of what they're doing steal our faith which is in and of the Lord. I quit watching TV: in my opinion it is a good first step. It is all propaganda, lies, fiction - the so-called govt has made it legal for its officials, units, and media to flat out lie to us. It can take a long while for the mind to settle down after a steady diet of it. Philippians 4.)

Thanks Barry, we are thankful to have you join us in prayer.

Here are some thoughts about prayer:

                GREAT QUOTES on PRAYER

"The prayer of the feeblest saint who lives in the Spirit and keeps
right with God is a terror to Satan. The very powers of darkness
                are paralyzed by prayer."
                - Oswald Chambers

"Prayer is not getting things from God, that is the most initial
stage; prayer is getting into perfect communion with God"
                - Oswald Chambers

"Many Christians are so spiritually frail, sickly, and lacking in
spiritual vitality that they cannot stick to prayer for more than a
few minutes at a time." - Wesley L. Duewel

"The devil is not terribly frightened of our human efforts and
credentials. But he knows his kingdom will be damaged when we
begin to lift up our hearts to God." - Jim Cymbala.

"Every preacher who does not make prayer a mighty factor in his
own life and ministry is weak as a factor in God's work and is
powerless to project God's cause in this world." - E. M. Bounds

"When the devil sees a man or woman who really believes in
prayer, who knows how to pray, and who really does pray, and,
above all, when he sees a whole church on its face before God in
prayer, "he trembles" as much as he ever did, for he knows that
his day in that church or community is at an end." - R.A. Torrey

"The prayer that sparks revival begins long before the countryside
seems to awaken from its slumber in sin. It starts when men fall
on their knees and cry out to God.
                That's where true intimacy
with God takes place and we begin the journey of being
transformed into the image of Christ. And as men are transformed,
the course of a nation can be changed
                ." - Wellington Boone

"I am perfectly confident that the man who does not spend hours
alone with God will never know the anointing of the Holy Spirit."
                - Oswald J. Smith

Count me in brothers. I am praying (crying out) for deliverance. Sadly I know we don't deserve it. Me included. I am part of this wicked nation. I see how many so called believers want judgement meted out on everyone that doesn't act or say what they want to hear. But we should be asking for mercy on those not judgement. We as future priests and kings are to be intercessors for the lost. It's too bad that those professors that profess to be believers are the ones that are in need of intercession as they are completely out of line. Blessings

Thankful to have you join us Steve. Good point you made.

Jesus said he came for the sick. Some think that Jesus is willing to also include the sick. But they are wrong. Jesus came ONLY for the sick. As He said, the well do not need a doctor. He is the Doctor for the sick. Those that do not see they are sick, do not see their need for Jesus.

I need a full time doctor I'm so sick(sin). So I figure Jesus is my full time Doctor. He is always present. I can't always tell but I know He's close. When I'm in peril I know I need only to call out to Him and I'm safe. I practice this much. Blessings.

Count me in as well; I was most struck by Oswald chambers remark that even the weakest saint that keeps right with God has a chance for their prayer to mean something.
