      Thanks for posting,

Although one may totally disagree with Kent Hovind on most things, I think it should be acknowledged that he has been through a lot of prison for basically nothing.

He did not handle the situation wisely from the get go, which is a lesson to everyone on how not to resist the national government.... But he is not a violent criminal, and his treatment has been quite absurd.

I have a number of issues with Hovind, but I don't think he should be treated the way he has been.

      Blessings,

      Travis

        Hi Travis,

I will even say that Hovind is right about the government having no right to tax him or us.

Our forefathers fought a revolution because they were taxed and had no representation in the body that decided what the taxes should be.

We do not have any representation in the US Congress right now, except for a few members. The people were against Obama care, yet they passed it. They illegally passed a law that applied to the people that did NOT apply to them. The US Congress was set up to have men that would serve for two years as volunteers whose main purpose was to serve the people. But now we have lifetime professionals who serve themselves by selling their votes. They retire as very rich men.

Our POTUS is even worse. But we should not have an IRS that is an agency of tyranny to the people. The money we earn should be ours and not the governments. The government survived without income taxes for over 100 years. It was big government that brought on the need to raise more taxes. So we do not even own the money we earn today. For the government decides how much they will take and how much they will leave for us. If they decide, then the money is their not ours, for they have power over it, not us.

The same is true of property. We do NOT own property any more. We rent it from the government. You pay your rent to the government, and if you do not pay that rent, they will throw you out of the house that you may have built with your own hands. Also if the government decides they want your property for any reason, they will decide what to pay you for it and you are forced to sell. So the government has to power over your property, not you. So they are the real owners, not you.

This was all brought about by President Wilson and the US Congress back in 1913 when they handed over the power of the money of the US to a group of secret foreign bankers, called the Federal Reserve Bank. The Federal Reserve has stolen more and more money from the US that it went from the richest nation in the world, to a debtor nation that can not pay it's bills. They print the US dollar and then lend our money to us at interest. Then lend it out again, claiming that they can lend it again assuming it will be paid back, so they lend it out again ten times. By lending it this way, the interest amounts to more than the original amount of money. BUT THE MONEY THEY ARE LENDING US IS NOT THEIRS, BUT OURS.

When the power of our money was given to this secret group, the power of the nation was also given to them. For they simply buy our representatives with our money. They give money to whoever they want elected.

There is one and only one way to tell who is NOT bought by the Federal Reserve. If they support auditing the Fed, or are for banning it, then they are not sold out to it.

Ron Paul and Rand Paul are two that have not sold out. There are a few others.

So Hovind is unjustly serving time in prison.

But as far as his doctrine, I disagree with it almost totally.

But far more than his doctrine, I stand against the way he presents it.

I have a friend by the name of Randy, he agrees with the new earth doctrine. As you know I am old earth. But we discuss this without disrespecting one another. We do not imply the other has no faith or is a heretic. We do not mock one another, or the beliefs of one another.

But Hovind mocks those who disagree with him and says they have no faith. In fact he implies they are heretics. He is arrogant and shows no humility in his presentation.

Even if he was presenting The Truth, to present it in the manner Satan behaves, and not in the manner of Christ is a worse error than being wrong about the doctrine.

But even worse, he is bold face liar. He calls himself DR Dino, when in fact he has no doctorate of any kind. In fact he has no degree in the study of dinosaurs at all. He does have a fake Doctorate from a diploma mill in Education. He paid this "Mill" a few hundred dollars and wrote a short paper and they sent him his fake Doctorate. He attended no classes and did no course of study at all, none.

It is on the basis of this fake doctorate that he displays his arrogance and calls himself Dr. Dino. When in fact he knows almost nothing about Dinosaurs. My son knew more about dinosaurs when he was five, and that is no exaggeration. ( But I will admit that my son knew quite a bit about them at five)

This man was recommended, and his teachings were posted, on a site that I used to be part of. As far as I know they have never openly denounced Hovind, or apologized for their error. I stood against him and his teaching from the start and I was attacked by the owner of the site for doing so. The only man who stood for the truth was "Bixbite" who exposed Hovind for the fraud that he was. There was not a peep posted about his post from the owners of the site.

So does Hovind deserve to be in prison for not paying taxes, NO, NO and NO.

But does he deserve to be there for fraud and taking donations under false pretenses, well I am not his judge.

But there is the Lord Jesus who is The Judge of all and everything, He will judge us all.

Me, I plead for mercy and grace for all of my sins.

Edit: why is Genesis 1 important ? Well to agree with Hovind is to say that there was life without the light from the Sun and that God focuses the chapter about TIME. When in fact the Sun is a shadow of Christ and there can not be any life without Light from Christ. Since the heavens declare the glory of God and the natural is a sign of the spiritual, there could be no life without light from the Sun. And also God does not focus on time, but focuses on the coming of light in Genesis 1.

Whew, I didn't know much about Hovind. I knew he was nabbed by the evil IRS, and he has quite a following. I never got behind it, but I did say a few prayers for him.

From one or two videos I watched he seemed to have a zeal for God. He does come across as haughty and condemning. I don't recall having a problem with his projection, maybe because of whatever the topic was and my emotional disposition towards it back then too. It was a couple years ago.

I haven't seen Dr. Dino, I just figured it was a kids' mini-series and "Dr." was part of the narrator's in-character name. Maybe I ought to? Or maybe why bother since I don't subscribe to the young earth theory.

Lou, I appreciate how you tie together the details about taxes, currency, and the Federal Reserve Bank. It seems like old stuff to me, but so few seem to get this so it needs to keep being said.

This part regarding behavior gives me something nourishing to chew on. Thank you. "Even if he was presenting The Truth, to present it in the manner Satan behaves, and not in the manner of Christ is a worse error than being wrong about the doctrine."

I am thankful that you appreciate it. You are sure right about few knowing this and everyone needing to know.

BTW, I just came back from my grandsons high school graduation. He attended a Christian school and it was so refreshing to hear every single person that spoke give glory to The Lord Jesus even if some did speak as though he was a different person than The Everlasting Father who created everything that exists.

At least they give Jesus credit for shedding His blood for them.

Anyone who knows me knows that I really like Kent Hovind.

Yes, I don't agree with everything he teaches and I'll admit I don't even agree with his attitude at times. But still, he's a brother in Christ and I do believe he truly loves the Lord and the Gospel and I have learned a lot of things from him.

I'm glad he'll finally be getting out of prison. I also echo the opinion of everyone else here in that I don't think he should have been treated the way he's been treated.

I wish Kent would have debated Bill Nye instead of Ken Ham. (Well, I wish ANYONE ELSE would have debated Bill Nye instead of Ken Ham, but that's neither here nor there...) I'm not throwing stones at Ken Ham, because honestly I've listened to very little of his material. But like a lot of people were saying after the Bill Nye debate: he just doesn't come across as being that good of a debater.

Anyway, back on topic: I look forward to Kent Hovind being back. There are a lot of topics that I'm really interested in hearing his opinion on.
