It is a balmy 12 degrees here. I am waiting for a call from Lazy Boy today to tell me the delivery time tomorrow for my new recliner that Isaac and Leah bought me for Christmas. I refused to let them buy it for me at first, for they are driving a car with 150 K miles on it. It was very generous of them and they really wanted to do it. The chair is really comfortable and is like it was made for me. It really fits me. I will be able to sleep in it when I can not sleep in bed because of shoulder pain.

They finally ordered an MRI of my shoulder a couple of weeks ago and it was not good news. The top rotator cuff muscle has a complete tear where the muscle is not connected to the tendon. They told me surgery was required. But I am going to physical therapy and I am able to raise my arm all the way vertical out to the side. They told me I should not be able to do that with a complete tear. Two of the head people both agreed that the muscle must be connected somehow to the tendon for me to make that motion. They told me on my first exam, and after they read the MRI that surgery was the only option. But now they are telling me that they recommend putting off surgery until more physical therapy.

I have been praying for the Lord to heal my shoulder and He may be doing just that.

I am seeing so many doctors that it takes a lot of my time. I am seeing my chiropractor twice a week to help with the pain because I do not take pain medications. I am going to physical therapy twice a week. I went to an urgent care doctor twice because I did not have a family doctor because I had not been to a doctor for ten years. So I called a Dr that I went to 10 years ago. The lady who answered the phone said I was not on their computer, but to get rid of me she told me she would ask the Dr about me. Well the next day she called me back and said she asked the Dr if he remembered Louis Newton. He said," you mean Lou, yes give him an appointment". I found it hard to believe that he remembered me after ten years considering how many people he sees. So I have seen him twice to be able to have a family Doctor. I have an appointment Jan 3rd with an orthopedic surgeon about my shoulder and an appointment Jan 2nd with my cardiologist.

I may know why he remembered me. I got the shingles and they were so painful, I called his office. They gave me an appointment that same day. I went in an he told me he wanted to see me again in two days. That night I cried out to the Lord and asked Him to heal me and He did. I went back to the doctor the next day and the shingles were gone. He could not believe it and told me most people have them for weeks and months and he had never seen anyone have them for two days.

I have went for blood test twice, an X-ray, an MRI, and a Holder Monitor for two days. Also I had a echocardiogram of my heart and they told me that my heart muscle was like a 30 year old. I had a sonogram of several arteries and they told me that my arteries are totally clear.

But I had passed out on the trail and fell down a very steep embankment. I did not know why. I have had some kind of condition with my heart since a child. When young the Dr told me I had a heart murmur. When in my early 40's if I ran real hard over a period of time, I would get odd feelings in my heart. I went for a stress test and he found nothing wrong. But I did not feel he ran my near hard enough on the treadmill for it to show up. When I was 60 I went for a stress test again and the Dr did not find anything. But now they are telling me that I have to have a pacemaker to keep my heart from skipping beats that could be fatal.

That was in October and I am still waiting on The Lord to tell me what to do. The one Dr got angry with me a month ago because I had not already had the pacemaker installed. They believe they are the answer and I believe Jesus is the answer.

My thoughts are this: I have had this condition since a child and have asked Doctors about it maybe a dozen times. But for 74 years they found nothing. Now they are very anxious that I should take their advice and get a pacemaker installed, and tell me that I could die any minute without it. But I have not only lived 74 years without it, but have run well enough to win many races over the years from 100 meters, 400 meters, Mile, 5k, to 10 K.

I am not doing anything until the Lord tells me to do it. I am praying that the Lord heal my natural pacemaker.

I believe in aspirin -
Since my prayers have never been effective in receiving healing you may not wish me to pray for your shoulder or your heart.
Oh, NO! I will pray for your spiritual heart!
shingles - two days? Shucks, mine lasted weeks and left scaring and damaged nerves.

Cold weather in the Dallas area is nothing comparatively - 20's and teens.
I am preparing everything outside today.

Steve, how much snow at your home?
Has work come to a stop?
I had electricians at my house for 8 hours yesterday.
Added a breaker and dedicated line each for the refrigerator and the freezer in the garage and a sub panel in the new storage shed - number 6 cable and two 20 amp breakers.
I have a 70 AMP TIG welder. It is a 120 volt. Do you know what the amp requirement might be?
I am yet to try it out.
How did the chitterlings fair through the holidays?
Lou must pray for your condition since my prayers do not produce healing.

I'd like to hear that Lou's shoulder was healed.

A 70 amp 120volt load is expensive to use. At 240 volt will draw 40 amps or less. For now a 70 amp 120volt breaker will be hard to find. I think you mean the welder puts out 70amps. This is accomplished with an internal transformer. So you probably only need 20 amps at the 120 volts.
Be careful and make sure its grounded. Stay warm. I have fires burning everywhere. Blessings

I may have a few medical issues right now, but my apartment got too warm today I had to turn the heat down. Good problem to have in weather like this.

They are delivering my chair between 9:30 and 12:30 tomorrow.

Glen, I am hoping my shoulder is healed too.

When I started to think about praying for healing, I wondered if I should do so. Did The Lord want to heal me ? When thinking about that, this thought came washing over my mind ( it may have been the Lord ): The Lord may have asked me, was there ever a time or ailment that The Lord did not heal me miraculously ? I could not think of one, except for my allergies.

He healed me before I became a Christian of ulcers that I had suffered with for years, in seconds.

He healed me in church when I got so sick I passed out when I cried out to Him to help me. It was gone in seconds.

I was so sick for many days I had a temperature of 105 degrees. He appeared to me in my living room and healed my sore throat, then my headache, then my stomach ache, then my body aches, then my fever one by one. Each one was gone in a second while asking him to heal it.

I was bleeding internally and they told me I was probably going to die. I called out to the Lord and He healed me the instant I refused surgery.

I got the shingles and called out to the Lord to help me. They were gone the next day. I agree with Glen they are very very painful.

I broke a bone in my hand that was bent at a 90 degree angle. I put my hand up in church and I felt the healing power of the Lord. I took my hand down and the bone was now straight and the pain, black and blue, and swelling were gone.

There are many more times that the Lord healed me. Plus many more times the Lord sent me to pray for someone who was told they were dying, and the Lord healed them.

Not one of these times did I know The Lord would heal me or the other person. The person with the gift of healing has no power at all and has no control if healing takes place or not.

You can know one thing. If The Lord tells you, if you pray for that person, I will heal them, then you can know they will be healed if you pray for them. Sometimes I can feel the healing power of His Holy Spirit flowing through me and I know they are healed. But other times I do not feel this and do not know if healing has taken place, or will take place, or not.

I would also say, if The Lord sends you to pray for someone, they probably will be healed. But one person I was sent to that was dying, I did not even pray for healing. The Holy Spirit just told them they were forgiven through my lips. I was stunned when the words came out of my mouth. She died minutes later, I think in peace.

The Lord is our Creator and so He is the One that knows how to heal us of any infirmity.

We all deserve eternal hell and do not deserve to be healed. But The Lord is full of mercy and grace and I can not think of one person who asked Jesus to heal them in the NT, that was not healed.
