  • Please pray for Glen

    Glen posted this on another thread:

    Yes, I will answer your questions when I have the time. I do want to do so.

    Currently, I am ministering with the family of a deceased mother and preparing the memorial. The deceased is a cousin of my wife. She is one of those "angels in disguise." Instead of being a spin doctor (putting forth a better remembrance than was the reality), I get to tell the truth on this one, and there will be unbelievers at the memorial!

    Part of my prep is the choosing of scripture and the English version. Since unbelievers are clueless on what it means to "walk in the Holy Ghost" I am searching for what I think is the appropriate alternative. However, I thought you would like to see this even though the Greek word is best translated "walk" - just because of your arguments about following the Holy Spirit.
    So you can see Glen is going to preach a funeral for a deceased family member and unbelievers will be there.

    So since The Lord Jesus shed His blood for those who will be in attendance and we love The Lord; we should think of how much Jesus wants these people to repent and trust Him to save them.

    All heaven will rejoice if one of these will turn to The Lord Jesus and give their life to Him. Think of how much joy that will give our dear Lord.

    So why not join me and Glen in prayer for The Holy Spirit to speak through Glen with conviction, truth, power and love and draw these people to The Lord.

    Amen. God bless glen's speech.

          Steve, redsoxmaloney, Lou and others;

          The funeral service is Saturday at 11:00. I've been sick but recovering. Your prayers must have helped my preparation and getting well. I am confident with the message. Now, I need the Holy Ghost to make the delivery compassionate and powerful and to soften the hearts of those present. Please, just mention the need of those at the service to the LORD.

            We are still praying that The Lord Jesus speaks through you Glen to the brokenhearted and lost.

              For those of you who said a prayer – The LORD heard! I always struggle with my voice and more so when I’ have had a sore throat. Today, my voice was strong and clear.

              The daughter of the deceased read a poem. A grandson spoke of the honesty and humility of his grandmother. The son, an unbeliever, gave a tearful eulogy of his mother, and his hope for her to be reunited with those she loved. I gave my well prepared message . . . but involuntarily and unexpectedly augmented by the Holy Ghost to meet the situation in the lives of those the Holy Ghost intended to penetrate. The LORD showed up today!

              Some of those in attendance congratulated me on my expertise, but I know I fail just as often as I am successful. What I experienced today had nothing to do with me. With me, it is always about what the LORD is doing with those to whom I minister. I can not manufacture it nor fake it . . . either the LORD shows up or he does not depending on who he is ministering to. I have no power or say when the LORD shows up because it is not about me.

              My ministry has always been “short circuited” by my incompetence. If I could make the LORD show up every time I ministered, as He did today, there would be millions listening to me. On the other hand, when the LORD shows up in my ministry there is no manifestation of the Holy Ghost that is more obvious to those with the eyes of angels. My very discerning wife understood all of this. She knows the difference between me and the Holy Ghost. One is powerful the other is a flop.

              Thank you for you prayers – so that you know . . . your thoughts are prayers.

                  I noticed something going on, Glen. I felt moved to pause my activities throughout the day, and meet with the Lord in prayer. I didn't understand it, but it was urgent, powerful and holy. Praise Him, our God who hears the prayers of the saints, Who inspires the saints to pray and then ministers through them, Who died to Himself to redeem for Himself a peculiar people. It's an awesome thing! Thanks so much for this testimony.
