This is fantastic Barry ! Thanks so much for posting this.

I have always wondered why God used the rib of Adam to make Eve.

I knew why Eve was made from Adam; which this man does not mention:

God CREATED all the material universe in His FIRST act of CREATION. God uses the word "create" when He creates something out of nothing. In the BEGINNING God created the heavens and the earth. The heavens is everything above us and the earth is everything below our feet. There is nothing material in this universe that is not included in the heavens and the earth. So God created EVERYTHING that was material in the beginning. Now all material was CREATED but, everything had not been FORMED or MADE from that material yet. The matter that was to form the earth had been CREATED, but the earth was NOT formed in the beginning because God tells us this in the next verse:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

So Adam was MADE from the dust of the earth because God had already CREATED everything that was material. So God was through creating anything that was material in the beginning ( called the Big Bang by man). So He had planned to make man from the dust of the earth. God made something from something. So man was MADE from the dust of the earth.

Now God planned also to make Eve from something. BUT she was to be related to Adam. She was to be taken from Adam.

So God took a RIB from Adam to make Eve. God planned to make Eve from SOMETHING, because He was through creating material matter and energy in the beginning.

Even mere men are aware of God's FIRST and most important natural law of His universe:

Matter and energy can not be created or destroyed. Matter can be converted into energy and energy into matter, but matter can not be created or destroyed, and energy can not be created or destroyed.

God does NOT DRIVE men, but leads mankind. Jesus does not drive men like men drive cattle. Jesus is The Shepherd that leads men so they will FOLLOW Him.

So God follows His own laws making an example for men to follow.

No man can break this FIRST and most important natural law of God. That is to teach us that no man can break the spiritual laws of God. Men think that they can break God's laws. But that is very temporary and time will prove that no man can do so.

God's law says that every man will reap what he sows. Time will show that to be true.

Just as man sows a seed of corn and it takes time to grow so the man can reap corn. So also a man sows in the spirit and to takes time for the man to reap whatever he sowed. BUT HE WILL CERTAINLY REAP WHATEVER HE SOWED.

Women today want to rebel from God and His creation ( even many who profess to follow Jesus). They do not want to admit that they came from man and were made from part of his body.

Man was made from God's creation and so he should be obedient to God.

Eve was made from part of man, so she should be obedient to man.

I did not set this order up, God did. If you have a beef with this, you should take it up with God.

The people of this nation has rebelled from this law of God. Both men and women has rebelled from it. This is one of the first laws that God gave mankind. First God revealed this law in Genesis 2 by making Eve from Adam's rib; then God gave Adam and Eve this command in Genesis 3:

16To the woman he said, I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.

This nation is paying a very high price for not obeying this law of God.

Should children obey their parents? Why ? Because the child comes from the woman. Should woman obey her father and then her husband ? Why ? because woman came from man.

Are your children less than you in the Kingdom of God; of course not. Women are not less than men, but it is God's plan that is beyond our wisdom.

When a wife does not obey her husband, she is teaching her children that they do not have to obey her, or God.

We can see this result in our nation.

Good comment. Thanks for this wisdom, Lou.

The Spirit witnesses in that Adam is a type of Christ, and Eve is a type of the Church. God took on flesh to join with man, and qualify as our kinsman redeemer. Jesus is the only one qualified to redeem us. When He was raised up and exalted, His spirit gave us new life and dwells within us. This is the spirit of Christ who dwells in all of us: the corporate Church is His body, and His bride; as Eve was of Adam's body and his wife. As Adam said flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone, Christ made us spirit of His Spirit, and our soul is conformed to His image. We are made from Christ's metaphorical "rib". And of course, the Church should obey the head who is Christ.

Amen, Adam was a shadow of Christ.

Once God first made Adam from the dust of the earth and then created Adam by breathing the breath of life into him; all men who were to be alive in the spirit had to come from Adam. (look in Genesis 1 and see Adam was both made and created)

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

It is not wise to think that only air can bring life. Dig up bodies from the grave and see if you can breath life into them by breathing air into them. Rocks are exposed to the air, but are not alive. Only Jesus can bring life, for He is life. Jesus breathed His Holy Spirit into Adam, just as he breathed The Holy Spirit into the disciples on the day He arose from the dead.

Jesus was revealing exactly who He was by doing this. He was revealing to everyone that he is the Father who created all matter and energy in the beginning, and created Adam by breathing His Holy Spirit into him.

John 20 19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Edit: so here Jesus is the source of the Holy Spirit by Jesus breathing on them. How many sources are there of The Holy Spirit - one of course. Jesus was man according to His manhood. Jesus was The Father according to His Godhood.

Someone may ask why all other men had to come from Adam.- Because Jesus is LIFE and all life comes from Him alone and no other source.

So for Adam to be a shadow of Christ - all men alive in the spirit had to come from him alone.

This is why Eve was made from Adam and not created anew.

This is also why all matter and energy had to come from the BIG BANG in the beginning. Because the whole creation declares the glory of God. So just as everything comes from The Lord Jesus, all matter and energy comes from the creation in the beginning.

Just as Jesus is the one and only source. The Big Bang is the one and only source of matter and energy.

Even atheist scientist know this, yet many who claim to be God's people claim this is not true.

Even evil men accept that this is the number one law of the universe and can not be broken.

Matter and energy can not be created or destroyed. God obeys His own laws to be an example to us.

Mere men claim that God breaks His own laws to support their doctrines. BUT they are also claiming that God is a lawbreaker. God alone is righteous and never breaks His own laws.

Well brother it all centers in and of and on the same thing; Christ is the author of life and all life comes from Him and without Him there is no life. He is the alpha and omega the beginning and the end, the father and son.

                A cascade of thoughts...

The use of God, Creator, Christ, etc. are interchangeable here, but some titles are just more fitting than others within a frame of reference so I will use them as seems appropriate.

God made man from the dust, and breathed the breath of life into him, and he became a living soul. Not only the spirit of life. Not only a soul. But a living soul (Gen 2:7). Man was also made upright (Ecc 7:29). At this point Adam could not have offspring after his own kind. And God recognized it is not good for the man to be alone. Adam needed a complement.

So Eve was taken from Adam and was also a living soul: in his image, but not the same as him. Being of Adam, she also inherited his spirit and was made upright.

Then by joining their seed they could fill the earth with their kind.

Man has a Creator. The Lord our God is one. Christ is God among us, Immanuel, God revealed to us. Adam is the shadow of Christ. Since it is not good for the man to be alone, then it follows that it is not good for God, Christ, to be alone. Christ required a complement.

Eve, the complement of Adam, is a shadow of natural and spiritual Israel. Out of natural Israel God took a rib to prepare Him a woman of faith to bear Him a son on the earth, Jesus, the Lamb of God. And as Adam was alone for a brief time, so was Jesus as we see in the gospels; and in Isa 63:3 God treads the winepress alone.

Adam and Eve begat, after their own kind, Abel whose name significantly means "emptiness; vanity; unsatisfactory". We know that Abel's blood was spilled in vain. We know that the blood Jesus Christ was not spilled in vain, but accomplished the full purpose of God.

We know that the first Adam is of the earth; the second Adam (Jesus Christ) is the Lord from heaven, and a life-giving spirit (1Co 15:45-47). Since Eve was taken from Adam and is of his flesh and bone, then it follows that Christ's bride, the church, is taken from Christ and is also of His spirit (Joh 3:5-8), his soul (1Co 2:16), and his body (1Jn 3:2).

Adam was temporal, and he and Eve returned to the dust. We know that Christ is eternal (Joh 8:58 "Before Abraham was, I am"), so His bride will be eternal. And a cool aside: He gave a rib to make his bride: if the rib grew back in Adam, then we can conclude that Christ is whole after giving up His rib for the church.

Now that the mystery is revealed and the way made straight, the Spirit of Christ and the church will beget more of His kind unto the end of the age. And God will have His bride, His complement, taken from Him, but not Him.

Such a cascade of thoughts are shadows of the ultimate truth, that God is the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, the Creator and giver of life, even quickening the dead.

Because man only can see a limited amount, some conclude that God's miracles are supernatural when they are purely superior to our understanding of the natural. That we can enjoy a clockwork stability in this creation is a miracle of His faithfulness to His covenants. God's creation obeys Him, period: this defines nature.

Fools say there is no God. They think they can wrest secrets from nature, and dream that they can use them to create energy, matter, life, a better man, a new and better universe. By figuring out how to break the laws and make up their own? Using the laws of that very nature to do so. How could man possibly get more out of a closed system when he is defined by that system; and certainly is not an infinite, life-giving being, the maker of that system with its many, very deep and inscrutable mysteries? It is a seductive lie. As cunning as Satan is, he can only deceive, bind souls, steal life, and work death.

Almighty God had to enter in to this closed system to get more out of it. He did it not by power, nor by might, but by His meek, gentle, humble, merciful, graceful, and obedient Spirit. We could not make our own way, He had to make the way for us. I thank God for sending His beloved son to do this.

It was a great post! I'll have to come back to watch the video; dinner break is almost over. I would like to say it makes alot of sense. I'm always provoked in my spirit when a woman in church preaches to the congregation or sends someone out in ministry. We always seem to have women sent out instead of men; a sign of a fallen church. Everyone calls the leader a pastor instead of God being our pastor. But anyway, I have a daughter and I love her dearly. I think you're right when you say no one is above another, but God sets up different roles for us to have according to his wisdom. I should have seen that Eve was supposed to be obedient to Adam since it does say her judgment for sin was Adam to rule over her. Again, great post.

Bless you, Steve. As you know, I can't honestly take credit for any of it. Before I knew Jesus I knew none of it, and after I knew Jesus it was given bit by bit and not of my own power. We are all bountifully nourished by the Lord Jesus, the bread of life. How many people read and hear words conveying the greatness of the Lord Jesus, and do not receive them, or receive and then lose them? (Many daily in my sight on forums and social media, God have mercy.) The commitment to love and enthusiasm for Jesus and His children, and godly living and thinking, on this forum is an inspiration to me. All of you, I believe, have been running this race much longer than I have, some with tougher challenges, and it's in my opinion a great testament that you're still in the race. May we all continue to be so blessed until our Lord returns.

Never sell yourself short, Steve our brother. It occurred to me that we are all like the blind men groping the elephant before us. Comprehending a tiny part of him maybe we can communicate an idea to each other, and maybe the group can get a better understanding. But unless the elephant blows his trumpet and reveals hidden aspects of himself, we can only have a superficial knowledge of him. We are not chimpanzees who cannot speak and trade ideas, but like chimps we can't know the elephant like he knows himself and like he wants to be known.

Paul Washer said, imagine you and I are here on the Earth, and God is on the Sun. The Sun is 93 million miles away. If I climb a mountain that's a couple thousand feet high is there any reason to exult that I am closer to God? The Sun is still 93 million miles away!

                          How true Barry !
