My first thought is: are they gonna use this to finally clean up that nuclear mess in Japan?

My second thought is: so much for Americans needing their guns. The deep pockets get the best toys. This is why we need God.

I thought about making metal into foam for tank armor many years ago. I thought you could make a sandwich out of two hardened steel plates with ceramic in between the steel. Put one of these sandwiches on the outside and one on the inside and fill in between the two sandwiches with metal foam. The two sandwiches with the foam in between would be thick but not too heavy for the tank to be very mobile.

You could make a sandwich of thin metal - metal foam- then thin carbon fiber. This could be used for military vehicles like humvees, etc. The sandwich could be thick and used as armor, but still not too heavy.

I hope they can develop this fast enough to use in Japan. That nuclear disaster is really bad. If most people knew how much radiation was being released and how harmful it was to the whole world, they would be rioting in the streets. They say little about the nuclear mess in Japan, but riot about not allowing a Muslim army to invade our nation.

Yes, we will not be able to use this, but the elite will use it.
