    When this song is sung as it should be, it leaves tears streaming down my face every time. It's hard to find a good version of this though...

    Original Lyrics:

    1. Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
    Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
    Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
    Call for songs of loudest praise.
    Teach me some melodious sonnet,
    Sung by flaming tongues above.
    Praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it,
    Mount of Thy redeeming love.]

    1. Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
    Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
    Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
    Call for songs of loudest praise.
    Teach me some melodious sonnet,
    Sung by flaming tongues above.
    Praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it,
    Mount of Thy redeeming love.

    3. Jesus sought me when a stranger,
    Wandering from the fold of God;
    He, to rescue me from danger,
    Interposed His precious blood;
    How His kindness yet pursues me
    Mortal tongue can never tell,
    Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me
    I cannot proclaim it well.

    4. O to grace how great a debtor
    Daily I’m constrained to be!
    Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
    Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
    Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
    Prone to leave the God I love;
    Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
    Seal it for Thy courts above.

    5. O that day when freed from sinning,
    I shall see Thy lovely face;
    Clothèd then in blood washed linen
    How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
    Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
    Take my ransomed soul away;
    Send thine angels now to carry
    Me to realms of endless day.

            I agree, brother. This song offers so much potential to praise our Lord. A solo voice doesn't do it justice. After hearing the Christian Gospel Choir's rendition it is my favorite. I have never heard such overflowing beauty as this. It makes my heart and my being swell so much it cannot be contained.

            The joy this rendition brings is worth way more than a dollar.

              Er... Don't take my enthusiasm the wrong way. I'm not one-upping ya, or disrespecting other renditions. The ones here are beautifully done and moving. I have been meaning to share the Christian Gospel Choir rendition, it is so grand, I just hadn't found a way / free sample. Sharing this joy with you all would be a treat, if I may influence you to spend the dollar. Oh, and put on the headphones.

                Ha, you're concern for my feelings makes me smile, it's good to have considerate people around.

                The reason I have been posting a different thread for each song or hymn is for exactly this reason, so that people can add any other versions they enjoy to the same thread. So if you can one up any of the music I've posted, by all means do so. If you've got a better version, I sure want to hear it.

                  I had never heard this song before.

                  Listening to your links, each one seemed to get better than the one before it.
                  Thank you, Travis, for posting every one of them!
